The world's first programme in data centre planning.
Specialist by design. Anchored in real delivery.
DCPP is the first specialised certificate dedicated to data centre planning. Built for engineers entering critical infrastructure, structured around real hyperscale delivery, and recognised across the region and beyond.
DCPP is built around the realities of hyperscale and colocation delivery. Each card below captures why one specific discipline benefits from the programme — with a free sample video from Cohort 01.
01
Planners
A normal building gives you 36 months. A hyperscaler gives you 18. DCPP teaches the planner-specific tools that compress that gap — parallel design-procurement-construction logic, FIDIC 8.4 recovery, and control milestones beyond the contractual ones.
Your hyperscaler client signs a contract with delivery penalties. Contractors will claim every gap. DCPP walks through real coordination failures — prolongation claims, civil-MEP handover gaps, and informal zone entries that turn into six-figure liabilities.
HV, MV, LV, UPS, switchgear, generators — you've sized them all. But not for a load that cannot drop for 60 seconds. DCPP walks through the grey-space electrical stack — dual-path redundancy, PUE math, and L4 load bank testing.
Rack density jumped from 14 kW to 100 kW. Chillers, fans, AHUs sized for CPU workloads don't work for NVIDIA GB300. DCPP teaches the AI retrofit logic — direct-to-chip cooling, chiller count drops, and the domino effect on power infrastructure.
Towers, malls, mixed-use — you've done them. A data centre is not bigger real estate; it's a different business model. DCPP walks through hyperscale vs colocation vs wholesale, the 18-month non-negotiable target, 100 MW capacity math.
Procurement is not the last step. It runs in parallel from Day 1 — often the true critical path. DCPP shows what makes data centre procurement different — LLE lead times of 52-80 weeks, factory slot scarcity, and the Stage 2 release window.
80% of data centre failures happen in the last 20% of the project. The wall is real. DCPP breaks down L1 through L5 — factory testing, 14-day IST integration, and finish-to-start L5 logic that kills the float you thought you had.
Chiller vs immersion. Generator count. Floor height. Tier level. These aren't details — they're the foundations every later stage builds on. DCPP shows what each RIBA stage must lock — Stage 2 freezes everything, Stage 4T tenders depend on it, Stage 5 IFC depends on it.
Zoning takes 2 months. Or 12. The difference is what you didn't ask before signing. DCPP covers what makes data centre plots different — Technical Due Diligence, Ministry of Defence approval, EIA timelines by country, and the GCC zones (TESAL, DIT, KKIA) that bypass zoning entirely.
Rack density jumped from 7 kW to 100 kW in five years. AI changed the math overnight. DCPP teaches ICT engineers to design white space for what's coming — MMR sizing for AI workloads, CAT6A structured cabling, and white-to-grey space ratios that shift with every NVIDIA release.
A structured progression from feasibility through to handover. Every module grounded in real hyperscale project documents, not generic industry summaries.

On completion, participants are equipped to:
01
Read, structure, and challenge a data centre programme baseline with confidence.
02
Identify long-lead equipment risks and their schedule implications before they become critical.
03
Sequence grey space and white space delivery in alignment with commissioning logic.
04
Govern the L2 to L5 commissioning pathway through to handover.
05
Engage authorities and utilities along the critical path with planning clarity.
06
Translate hyperscale planning discipline into their own organisational context.

Accredited
DCPP is officially accredited by the CPD Standards Office (United Kingdom), Provider No. 23161. The 16 CPD hours can be logged toward annual professional body requirements across engineering, construction, and project management.
Each participant receives a Certificate of Completion awarded by Alba DC Hub, recognising specialised study in data centre planning. Structured CPD across four modules. Awarded on completion. Recognised across the region and beyond.
Hyperscale data centre portfolio experience exceeding 2 GW. Active delivery footprint spanning UAE, KSA, Italy, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Greece, and Iraq. Practitioner-led, grounded in current delivery, not academic-only.
Compressed a Madrid permit cycle by 50%. Secured a high-capacity grid connection 12 months ahead of schedule in Milan. Achieved Day 1 construction 6 months early in the UAE. The discipline taught in DCPP is the discipline behind these outcomes.
The only specialised data centre planning programme of its kind.

→ 09 Common Questions
What participants ask.
Is DCPP only for planners?
+
No. While planning is in the name, DCPP is structured for a broader audience — planning and project controls engineers, project managers, MEP engineers, and real estate or data centre executives. The shared language is critical infrastructure delivery, not a specific job title.
Is it only for MEP or civil engineers?
+
No. MEP and civil engineers are welcome, and the curriculum is designed to translate across disciplines. Participants from procurement, project controls, development, and executive backgrounds find the material directly applicable to their work.
Do I need P6 or Primavera knowledge?
+
No. DCPP teaches the planning discipline — the logic, sequencing, and structure behind a data centre programme. The tool you use to express that logic, whether P6, MS Project, or anything else, is secondary. Participants without P6 experience follow the programme without difficulty.
Do I need prior data centre experience?
+
No. DCPP is designed for engineers entering critical infrastructure. The programme builds from first principles, then layers in the discipline that hyperscale and colocation projects demand. Prior data centre experience helps, but it is not a prerequisite.
Do you use real materials and real project experience?
+
Yes. The curriculum is grounded in real hyperscale project artefacts — schedules, procurement strategies, commissioning logs, and design documents from live delivery. Not generic industry summaries. Sessions are led by a practitioner currently delivering a 2 GW+ data centre portfolio.
→ Voices from Cohort 01
What participants say.
Direct feedback from professionals who completed DCPP Cohort 01 — collected through the post-programme evaluation.
This course has significantly strengthened my understanding of Data Centre delivery and enhanced my insight into the critical thinking required throughout the entire project lifecycle — from site selection and early-stage planning through to RFS (Ready for Service).

Post-programme evaluation
Honestly I'm so impressed with all sessions so far. I currently work in the DC sector and I'm noticing things I should be doing which I haven't.
